Wallowa Lake Resort office provides free wireless from our office. A few items
about our wireless.
Our internet access and wireless is provided
through a satellite dish on our office building. The satellite service
is not allows working. It can be impacted by snow, wind storms, trees
and other issues. This results in our wireless access point being down from time
to time. We get our bandwidth through Wild Blue
Satellite Service.
Your laptop and/or wireless version will impact
the range of our wireless service. In general computers with Wireless-G and Wireless-N
work very well across cabins 1-11. Other wireless versions like A and B
will have limited speed and connectivity. The best wireless connections
are from cabins 1-5 and our office porch.
At our office we use Intel
ProSet/Wireless Software to connect to our wireless network. Other
wireless software will work but we do not provide support for them.
Do not come to our lodging and
expect the wireless to work at all times. Our location and our inability to
hire good local technical support limit its reliability.
Wallowa Lake Resort installed
our wireless service during 2007. We expect it to be more reliable as we
are able to understand its configuration and it maintenance procedures.
If you want to use the wireless
just come to our office and ask for the wireless code. Remember our
wireless is free so it takes second priority to keeping our cabins clean and
comfortable.
